Being Jewish in between
Discussion on the Jewish present in Germany with Debora Antmann, Allon Sander and Tamara Loewenstein
It was only in Germany, during her DAAD stay in Berlin in 1985/86, that Miriam Cahn became increasingly aware of her Jewish identity. Since then, she discloses her Jewishness in texts and images alike. In view of the exhibition's title MEINEJUDEN (My Jews), in an examination of Jewishness in Miriam Cahn's work and the current debate on anti-Semitism, the talk aims to bring together other, very contemporary voices on being Jewish. The invited speakers will discuss different perspectives on the Jewish present and future in Germany.
With Debora Antmann, Author, Berlin, Allon Sander, Chairmen of the association CJZ Siegerland e.V. and Tamara Loewenstein, Curator and cultural educator, Hamburg
Moderation: Laura Cazés, Advisor for Association Development at The Central Welfare Board of Jews in Germany (ZWST)
