The Poetry of the Absent in the Work of Laurenz Berges
Laurenz Berges' photographs show abandoned places, empty spaces, bare niches. They are characterized by an almost mute concentration that is able to tell a lot, at the same time. In her lecture, Franziska Kunze traces that presence of the absent that makes Berges' work so distinctive.
Franziska Kunze is head of the collection of photography and time-based media at the Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich.
